Bank of Maldives (BML) has today opened a branch in HDh. Nolhivaramfaru.
The branch provides in-person banking services, and also has a new self-service banking ATM centre.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, currently on a visit to HDh atoll, inaugurated the new branch in a ceremony held this morning. He was joined at the ceremony by cabinet ministers, BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef and other senior officials of the bank.
“We are immensely proud to launch our new branch in Nolhivaranfaru which will offer our Islamic finance first policy for both individual and business customers," BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef said.
"By expanding access to banking services, we are driving sustainable economic growth in our vibrant communities and enabling financial inclusion across the country.”
BML's Director of Retail and SME Banking Badrudeen Hassan said that although all bank services are available online, the bank aims to open branches in the atolls so as to increase convenience for customers.
He said that the Nolhivaranfaru branch will visit homes, businesses and nearby islands to offer information regarding the bank's products and services and to promote financial literacy and awareness on protection from scams.
Bank of Maldives currently has 42 branches, 151 self-service banking centres, 209 ATMs and agent banking services across 20 atolls. The bank also offers state of the art online banking services.
