National airline Maldivian will begin seaplane flights to Baa atoll Kamadhoo from Thursday next week.
According to the airline, flights will operate every Thursday, with a special introductory fare of MVR 1,199 for one way tickets.
The service is being run under an agreement signed on August 11 with The Hawks Hotel.
Kamadhoo, which has a growing guesthouse sector, is already a popular destination during Eid and other holidays. Local tourism operators expect the new service to further boost arrivals.
The government has also announced plans to expand seaplane services to other local tourism destinations, including Alifu Alifu Thoddoo, Alifu Alifu Ukulhas and Noonu atoll Velidhoo.
