The ceremony to announce the results of the "Educational Dhivehi Storybook Writing Competition for Children," organized by Excel International School, was held today.
Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture, and Heritage, Adam Naseer, attended the ceremony as the guest of honor and presented certificates of participation to all contestants, as well as certificates and cash prizes to the winners.
In the category for writing stories for children aged four to six years, Zeenath Labeeb, Kemee, S. Hithadhoo, secured first place.
The school offered a cash prize of MVR 9,000 for the top spot in this category, with MVR 7,000 awarded for second place and MVR 5,000 for third.
In the category specifically for storybooks for children under four years of age, Saziyya Abdul Azeez, Saziyya Manzil, F. Bilehdhoo, took first place.

The prize for first place in this category was MVR 8,000, while second and third places were awarded MVR 6,000 and MVR 4,000, respectively.
Excel International stated that the purpose of the competition is to help improve the Dhivehi language proficiency of its students and to create books in Dhivehi that appeal to children.

The school also mentioned that the goal is to bring educational stories written in beautiful Dhivehi that uphold the literary and moral standards of society to the students, while providing an opportunity for those interested in writing stories in Dhivehi.
Excel International further noted that the winning stories are scheduled to be printed as books and that audio and video versions of these stories are also planned for public release.

Excel International School caters to children aged between 18 months and six years, with more than 800 students currently enrolled.
The school follows an American international curriculum and is known for its affordability.
The monthly fees are MVR 1,290 for Play School, age group of 18 to 30 months olds, MVR 1,690 for Baby Nursery, MVR 1,790 for Nursery, MVR 1,890 for LKG, and MVR 1,990 for UKG.
