MACL has today celebrated the 50th anniversary of Air India operations to Maldives.
Air India launched flights to Maldives on February 21, 1976. It was the first airline to offer flights between India and Maldives.
To celebrate the anniversary, Air India flight AI2239 was greeted with a ceremonial water salute on its arrival at Velana International Airport today, MACL said.
Passengers arriving on this flight were also presented with roses and cookies.
MACL said the event was organized to highlight the strong relations between Maldives and India.
