Dhiraagu has been named Maldives’ Broadband Telecom Company of the Year at this year’s Asian Telecom Awards.
The Asian Telecom Awards recognize achievements across the region’s communications industry and highlight companies contributing to the development of a modern digital ecosystem.
Dhiraagu received the award in recognition of its achievement in delivering 100 per cent high-speed fibre broadband coverage to households across all inhabited islands of the Maldives.
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Ismail Rasheed described the recognition as a significant honour for the company.
“This is a further step forward in our efforts to provide the highest quality digital services and experiences,” he said, adding that high-speed internet is now accessible to every household in the country through Dhiraagu. He also thanked customers for their continued trust.
Dhiraagu provides 100 per cent 4G coverage to all residential islands, resorts and industrial islands nationwide. The company’s 5G network currently reaches 73 per cent of the population.
Earlier this year, Dhiraagu also won the ‘Fastest 5G Network’, ‘Best 5G Network’ and ‘Best 5G Gaming Experience’ awards for Q1–Q2 2025 from Ookla’s Speedtest platform.
