The playground has seen an additional two-thirds increase to its previous size. It has also been split into two, allowing for safety during playing and to offer a full experience in playground activities. While speaking at the ceremony, Head of Operations at Lighthouse Learning Group Sudarshan Shetty said that the playground is the largest of its kind in Male'. He also said that work on Phase 2 is being arranged in order to develop it into the most complete playground, even more than it is now.

He stated that the school conducting such projects showcases their priority for playing which is a part of their Holistic Early Childhood Education. He also described that giving children the opportunity to play is an important part of confidence and social development.

During the ceremony, State Minister Abdul Razak said that the playground at a preschool plays a very important role. He also said that it will also serve an important role in the cognitive development of the child, their growth, exercise and play as well.

He went on to say that the children will learn many key things through play, and that as it allows children to learn various skills, having a large playground such as Kangaroo's would be an important resource in that regard.

The ceremony included a variety of special games for former and current students. In addition to a special performance from SKG students, parents of students at Kangaroo Kids and Finland International School played a special futsal match.

The playground that has been opened at Kangaroo Kids will be in use not just by their students but by students from Finland International School. Even though Kangaroo Kids opened its doors to education in 2015, the playground was considered one of the largest within Maldivian preschools at the time. Back then, the school was designed as a place where the creativity of children and development skills could be encouraged.
