Aminath Shareehan Ibrahim, founder of 'Thakethi', shares with The Edition her journey in raising Thakethi to its current remarkable level of popularity.
Thakethi started off as an online page selling charms and pins and expanded into a distributor of a wide range of local Dhivehi books, games and other products, mainly targeted for children.
They carry funny pins with a play on words and outright hilarious witticisms, children's books in both English and Dhivehi, creative Maldives themed puzzles and games and a plethora of other imaginative, original products.
Besides products dreamed up and produced by Shareehan, alongside other collaborators, Thakethi also now features other artists and writers.
Shareehan says that she is aiming to create a space in the global market for Dhivehi literary products, confidently saying "If Korea can do it, we can definitely do it!"
