Male', February 3, 2024: Opposition party Maldivian Democratic Party's (MDP) primary election to determine candidates for the upcoming parliamentary election scheduled for March 17: The primaries were held in 40 out of the 93 constituencies. According to MDP, a total of 149 candidates are contesting for the party ticket in these constituencies and eligible voters come up to a total of 25,325.
