Prison authorities apprehend inmates attempting escape

Prison authorities have apprehend two inmates attempting to flee Asseyri Jail in Kaafu Atoll Himmafushi.

The inmates had scaled up the barrier wall surrounding the prison to escape. The incident has been corroborated by Prisons Commissioner Ahmed Mohamedfulhu via a tweet he made.

The commissioner confirms probing the incident, but did not divulge any further details. He further assured taking necessary steps to ensure similar incidents do not repeat in the future.

Several inmates had escaped imprisonment and attempted to flee, however to no avail. The authorities have so far been successful in apprehending escaped inmates in each of these incidents.
