13 Positions in JP become vacant, open for applications

Jumhooree Party has announced on Wednesday that it is accepting applications for thirteen positions in its council which have become vacant.

The positions currently vacant in the party include the posts of Deputy Leader, President of the Women's League and President of the Youth League.

A statement released by the party also said that eight positions of the twenty five that is elected through the national conference have also been vacated.

The rest of the positions are for chairs of various committees.

Several members of the party, including some from among its leadership, left the party following its defeat in September's presidential election. Many have since joined ruling coalition parties Progressive Party of Maldives and People's National Congress.
