President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has said last night that the implementation of the government’s infrastructure development plan is going smoothly, with significant progress being made on projects promised during his presidential campaign.
The President shared this message on his WhatsApp group channel following a Cabinet working session held Tuesday, where ministers and Managing Directors of state-owned enterprises gathered to discuss updates on key development projects.
“Today's working session with Ministers and Managing Directors was very successful,” President Muizzu said in a message shared on his official WhatsApp channel.
“I have formulated a comprehensive, detailed, and practical plan to implement all development projects included in my manifesto. Implementation of the plan is going very well,” he said.
According to the President’s Office, the meeting included discussions on the status of ongoing projects, including those awarded to SOEs.
President Muizzu encouraged regular public updates and ensure completion of said projects in a timely and transparent manner.
The SOEs represented at the meeting included:
- State Trading Organization (STO)
- Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO)
- Fenaka Corporation Limited
- Road Development Corporation (RDC)
- Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC)
- Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC)

During the session, President Muizzu urged all parties to adhere to project timelines and emphasized the importance of meeting deadlines to achieve results efficiently.
President's Office said that the meeting also addressed concerns raised by ministers and SOE Managing Directors, with discussions focusing on strategies for ensuring smooth and timely implementation of all ongoing and planned projects.
