President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has invited Malaysian businesses to take part in Maldives' road to development and coming a "stronger, more inclusive, and future-ready nation."
His remarks were made in a keynote address at Maldives-Malaysia Business Forum 2025 on Monday.
Speaking further, he described Maldives as a dynamic and strategic partner on a journey towards becoming a fully developed nation by 2040, marking 75 years of independence.
He also stressed that this transformation could not be achieved alone, adding that Maldives needs partnerships with other nations that complement each nation's strengths.
Assuring potential partners that Maldives is committed to building strong, trusted, and mutually beneficial relationships, Dr. Muizzu also positioned Maldives' newly outlined Special Economic Zone (SEZ) boundaries as an attractive incentive for forward-looking investors.
The president also highlighted Maldives' prime location along key shipping routes, suggesting the country as an ideal hub for maritime and logistics investments.
Maldives' world renowned tourism sector was also highlighted by the president, specifically investment opportunities in the hospitality and eco tourism industries.
“We are ready to welcome you to the Maldives—not just as visitors, but as partners in our shared future and prosperity," he said.
