In the case where there are allegations that the previous administration's Gedhoruveriya housing scheme was designed to provide benefits to certain persons, the Anti Corruption Commission has sent the names of then State Minister for Housing Akram Kamaludeen and three others for prosecution.
The commission said that evidence obtained in their investigation shows that in issuing the first 4000 flats under the Gedhoruveriya housing scheme, certain persons had been included in the recipients list, providing undue benefits to specific persons.
In addition to Akram, ACC has sent for prosecution the names of then Senior Executive Mohamed Arif, then Senior Executive Shiruaam Waheed and the ministry's then and current Director General Ahmed Vishan Naseem.
The ACC has appealed to the PG Office to charge the four with abuse of an official position and providing undue benefits.
ACC said that there are additional allegations against the four, which the commission is now investigating in collaboration with Police.
