The Non-Resident Ambassador of Palestine to Maldives, Ihab Ibrahim Mohamed Khalil, presented his Letter of Credence to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today.
The Ambassador was received in a traditional “Haiykolhu” procession, accompanied by Maldives National Defence Force Drum and Trumpet Band, as he was escorted from Republic Square to the President’s Office.
During the meeting, Ambassador Khalil expressed gratitude for the Maldives’ long-standing support for the Palestinian cause, acknowledging the nation’s consistent advocacy on the global stage.
President Muizzu reiterated the Maldives unwavering commitment to Palestine, affirming that support would remain resolute.

Both sides emphasized their intention to deepen bilateral ties, with particular interest in areas such as trade and cooperation.

The President also received credentials from five other Non-Resident Ambassadors, including those representing Zimbabwe, Uzbekistan, and Denmark, and spoke on enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in tourism and trade.
