Foreign Minister Abdullah Khaleel has emphasized that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s foreign policy is designed with the primary goal of benefiting Maldivians. Speaking at a meeting with the Maldivian community in Singapore during the President's official visit, Khaleel said the President is not afraid to “say no when necessary” to protect national interest.

He added that all foreign relations decisions are being made with the Maldives and its people in mind, and President Muizzu has demonstrated this both in action and speech. Khaleel highlighted the President’s commitment to personally understanding the situation of Maldivians living abroad.

Several MoUs signed with Singapore during this visit are expected to bring practical benefits to Maldivians, Khaleel noted. However, he also urged Maldivians overseas to uphold good behavior, pointing out that actions of a few can create visa and education-related challenges for many.

The ceremony included personal interactions between the President, First Lady, and Maldivians residing in Singapore, where individual concerns were heard and discussed.
