Criminal Court has said that a suspect brought for a remand hearing had been arrested 105 times previously.
The court order placing him in remand in custody for 15 days states that he has a prior record of 105 arrests. Of these, he was placed in custody 43 times.
The court order said that the majority of cases he has been arrested for concern theft and robbery.
Since the age of 18, the suspect has been arrested 7 times a year on average.
As per the incident report lodged by Police, they had intercepted a person who had been walking with a heavy black plastic bag and who had sped up upon seeing police officers on patrol. On checking the bag, Police found four rolls of electricity wiring. When questioned, the man had said it had been given to him by someone, providing a number to call, who he claimed would verify his words. Police said that they had attempted to call the number, but the call had not gone through.
The court order said that he is being placed in remand in custody as he may pose a danger to society.
