President offers condolences following death of 15-year-old Luth in snorkeling incident

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of 15-year-old Mohammed Luth, of Roalhi, ADh. Maamigili, who was found dead after going missing during a swim with friends.

Luth had reportedly entered the water with four friends around 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening. He was later reported missing, prompting a search effort by local residents and authorities. His body was recovered underwater at approximately 9:00 p.m.

In a message shared on social media platform X earlier today, President Dr. Muizzu described the loss as “deeply saddening,” expressing sympathy to Luth’s family during this difficult time.

The tragic incident comes just days after another young life was lost. Seventeen-year-old Yusuf Alsan Mohammed passed away following a road accident on Sunday night.

Both incidents have shaken communities and drawn public attention to the need for greater safety awareness among youth, especially during recreational activities.
