40 year old jogger injured in accident remains on life support

The 40 year old jogger who was injured in Sunday night's accident on Boduthakurufaanu Magu, Male', remains on ventilator support, Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital has said.

The accident caused the death of a 17 year old and left two others injured. Of them, the 40 year old remains in the Intensive Care Unit, while the 16 year old is now being treated in the hospital's ward. The hospital has not disclosed details of injuries sustained by either.

The 40 year old was out jogging, and had been crossing the road on a zebra crossing when the speeding motorcycle driven by minors crashed into him and hit an oncoming pick up truck.

The 17 year old who died in the accident is Yoosuf Alson Mohamed, the only son of renowned music artists Mariyam Ashfa and Mohamed Abdul Ghani (Theyrava).
