King Charles III hosts private audience with President Muizzu

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has today received a private audience with King Charles III of the United Kingdom.

The meeting was held at Windsor Castle earlier today during President Muizzu's ongoing official visit to the UK.

Discussions centered on further strengthening of ties between Maldives and UK as the countries are set to mark 60 years of diplomatic relations on July 26, the President's Office said.

Earlier, David Lammy MP, the UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs paid a courtesy call on the President.

President Muizzu also met with Lindsay Hoyle MP, Speaker of the House of Commons at the Speaker’s House in the Palace of Westminster.

The visit also saw President Muizzu taking part in a high-level meeting with the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Maldives, held at the House of Lords.

The President is accompanied on the visit by a high level delegation from the Maldives government.
