Ministry of Defence has stated that 350 slots will be offered in the initial round of the National Service Program.
In a social media post, the ministry said that the selection process for the National Service Program has been commenced in additional regions.
The selection process is currently being conducted in Sh. Funadhoo, N. Manadhoo and Th. Veymandoo, with interviews, medical assessments and fitness tests.
The ministry said that 350 applicants will be selected for the first round of the program.
The ministry has earlier said that it had received over 1,200 applications for the program. Persons between the ages of 16 and 28 are eligible to apply. Those under 18 must submit a no objection letter from a guardian.
A monthly allowance of MVR 6000 is to be offered to program participants. As such, a minimum of MVR 2.1 million will be spent monthly in participant allowances.
