President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has returned to Maldives after concluding an official visit to United Kingdom.
During his trip, President Muizzu held high-level discussions with senior British officials, including the Speaker of the House of Commons, Lindsay Hoyle MP, and the Foreign Secretary, David Lammy.
Discussions focused on key areas such as climate adaptation, education and scholarship opportunities, sustainable fisheries and tourism, and ongoing UK support for justice sector reform.
President Muizzu was also given a private audience with King Charles III at Windsor Castle, where both reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Maldives–UK partnership spanning 60 years.
In addition, the President met with the Commonwealth Secretary-General, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, to explore ways to enhance cooperation on shared priorities.
President Muizzu also took part in Maldives–UK Business Forum, which aimed to boost trade and investment ties between the two nations. During the forum, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the West London Chambers of Commerce.
The visit also saw the official launch of "From Maldives", a national fisheries promotion brand designed to elevate the international profile of Maldivian fish products.
