Two individuals have been arrested at the Kulhudhuffushi Airport for attempting to smuggle in drugs.
Counter Narcotics Intelligence had received reports of drugs being smuggled in via air travel at the Kulhudhuffushi Airport. A subsequent operation carried out at the airport last Friday saw the arrest of two persons.
The operation, conducted by Counter Narcotics Intelligence in collaboration with Kulhudhuffushi Police, resulted in the arrest of Mohamed Humaam Hassan Naeem, 29, Leed, Kulhudhuffushi, and Abdulla Ibrahim, 53, M. Aroodhaage.
Both were arrested at the Kulhudhuffushi Airport, Police said.
The court has placed Humaam in custody for a period of 10 days and Ibrahim for 15 days, according to Police.
