Man arrested with four kilograms of drugs in Male'

A man has been arrested with four kilograms of drugs following police searches at two residences in Male'.

Police arrested Muaaviyath Ahmed, 30, from Gaafu Dhaalu Nilandhoo.

The arrest was made during an operation carried yesterday as part of efforts to curb drug trafficking.

The operation was conducted jointly by the Counter Narcotics Intelligence unit and the Drug Enforcement Department, police said.

The drugs were found in one of the homes searched during the raid.

Muaaviyath was brought before the Criminal Court, which ordered his remand in custody for 15 days.
