The new 30-bed dialysis centre established under the Hulhumale' Hospital has been officially opened today.

The Hulhumale' Dialysis Centre is located at Orange Hiyaa in Hulhumale' Phase 1. It was officially inaugurated today by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.

Hulhumale' Hospital, which serves 300,000 patients annually, had only 10 beds for dialysis service till date. Following the commencement of operations at the new centre, the dialysis unit located within the hospital will be closed, with services now relocated to the Orange Hiyaa building.

Ibrahim Haleem, CEO of Male' City Group of Hospitals, stated at the ceremony that the growing demand for dialysis had earlier prompted an increase in service frequency—from two to three sessions. However, this proved insufficient to address the growing needs, leading to the establishment of a separate facility for the service.

Haleem stated that the new centre has the capacity to provide dialysis treatment to up to 150 patients each day.

Development of the Hulhumale' Dialysis Centre was contracted to Medtech and Medicom in February. Each of these companies established 15 beds.

Haleem further said that the centre is equipped to provide treatment even in emergency situations.
