RTL service begins in Baa atoll connecting the north

RTL service has connected all northern atolls with the launch of their Baa Atoll high speed ferry services. MTCC has stated with Baa Atoll services having launched, 13 islands including Dharavandoo where the airport is located, will be connected by ferry.

Raajje Transport Link (RTL) has connected all northern atolls with the launch of their Baa Atoll high speed ferry services.

RTL provides their ferry services to Zone 2 atolls such as Lhaviyani Atoll, Noonu Atoll and Raa Atoll. With Baa Atolls ferry services being launched today, all Zone 2 atolls are now linked via RTL's ferry services.

MTCC has stated with Baa Atoll services having launched, 13 islands including Dharavandoo, where the airport is located, will be connected by ferry.

The Transport Ministry has stated all ferry trips will be free from today until 3rd August 2025, with ticketing beginning after this time frame.

Tickets can be purchased through the RTL website and their mobile application.

RTL's ferry service reach now total 10 atolls with the inclusion of Baa Atoll.

The government handed over management of RTL's services to MTCC. The project is being carried out in three phases with six zones. The project has a cost of MVR 800 million, with it having begun in 2022.
