Murder weapon found in Maavah lagoon

Police have recovered a knife believed to be the weapon used in the killing of Moosa Ibrahim earlier today in L. Maavah’s lagoon.

Police found the knife during the investigation they are conducting into the murder of Moosa Ibrahim.

A team of Police divers had located the knife in the island's lagoon.

Police earlier arrested Mohamed Ibrahim, Asaree Manzil, HDh. Nolhivaramfaru in relation to the case. He has a prior record of drug related offences.

Moosa Ibrahim died today after he was stabbed in a heated altercation between himself and Mohamed Ibrahim. Police cited doctors and said that Moosa had already been deceased when taken to the island's Health Centre.

Mohamed Ibrahim, arrested in the case, does not reside in Maavah, but is a frequent visitor to the island.
