Nation-wide White Alert issued, gusts at 45mph

MET Office has issued a nation-wide White Alert, predicting gusts of 45mph and heavy rains.

MET Office said that rainy conditions will persist across the country from 2pm till 8pm today. Wind speeds are forecast at between 10 and 20 mph, with gusts of 40 mph. Seas are expected to be rough, with wave heights of between 4 to 7 feet.

MET Office cautions seafarers to take precautions as adverse weather conditions prevail.

Forecasts indicate that Maldives will see the heaviest rain tomorrow.
