Criminal Court releases seven, detains three arrested in a drug operation

Criminal Court has freed seven out of ten individuals arrested in a drug operation carried out in capital Male' City.

Police said that in an operation carried out last Thursday based on information received by Narcotics Intelligence, two residences connected to the group were searched.

During the search, Police found three bottles of alcohol and 66.92g of a substance believed to be drugs at the premises.

Police said that ten persons had initially been arrested, of which Criminal Court has granted conditional release to seven.

Police released the identities only of the three that the Criminal Court placed in remand in custody. These are:

- Aishath Faiha Thoha, 19, Flower House, HDh. Neykurandhoo

- Akram Mohamed, 28, Samiyana, N. Magoodhoo

- Ahmed Thaisir, 27, Roashaneemaage, S. Hulhudhoo

The court placed Faiha and Akram in custody for five days, and Thaisir for seven days.
