The body of Moosa Ibrahim, who was killed in L. Maavah on July 28, has been sent to India yesterday to conduct a post mortem.
Moosa's body has been sent for the procedure ten days after his death.
Moosa was stabbed in the neck by Mohamed Ibrahim, Asaree Manzil, HDh. Nolhivaramfaru, in a heated altercation that took place between the two.
Moosa was rushed to the island's health centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
On the night of the incident, Moosa's body was brought to Male' for forensic procedures.
Ibrahim, meanwhile, was arrested and has been placed in remand in custody until the end of trial. Police also recovered from the island's lagoon the knife believed to be the weapon used in the killing.
Residents of Maavah claim that the killing had taken place amidst a dispute over drugs. Police have also said that Ibrahim holds a prior record of drug offences.
