Maavah killing victim Moosa's funeral to be held today

The funeral of Moosa Ibrahim, who was killed in L. Maavah on July 28, is scheduled to be held today.

As per the 'Kashunamaadhu' (funeral prayers) page, the funeral of Moosa, 29, will be held after Dhuhr (afternoon) prayers today at the Aa Sahara Mosque in Male'.

Moosa's funeral is being held after his body was brought back to Male' last night after conducting an autopsy in India.

Police have not revealed any details regarding the autopsy.

Moosa was killed through stab wounds to the neck in an altercation that took place between him and Mohamed Ibrahim, Asaree Manzil, HDh. Nolhivaramfaru.

When taken to the Maavah Health Centre following the incident, Moosa was pronounced dead on arrival. His body was then brought to Male' for forensic investigations.

Mohamed Ibrahim has been arrested, and Police have also recovered a knife, believed to be the murder weapon, from the lagoon of Maavah.

According to residents of Maavah, the killing occurred in the midst of a dispute over drugs. As reported by some witnesses, the dispute arose regarding Ibrahim's failure to pay Moosa for drugs bought from him.

Police have also confirmed that the arrested Ibrahim has a prior record of drug related offences.
