The scholarships were ceremoniously handed out yesterday at the MMA by Education Minister Dr. Ismail Shafeeu.
MMA said that those who were chosen for the scholarship will have the chance to go to Malaysia's INCEIF University and attend the Executive Masters in Islamic Finance (EMIF) course.
"The course is designed to teach students the skills and thinking needed to promote businesses and socio-economic development," MMA stated.
MMA will be fully funding 5 of the 15 scholarships, with the other 10 being partially funded by the students.
"The EMIF course is designed by world-renowned scholars in conventional and Sharia finance, aimed at participants working in the field. This course covers a wide range of areas including Islamic finance as well as enhancing leadership skills and facilitating the desired changes in their institutions and society," MMA went on to say.
As per the MMA, the scholarships are designed to further strengthen the individuals who are up and coming in the Islamic Finance industry, while also building up individuals who are starting out which is also amongst MMA's strategic goalposts.
