Construction of new B. Atoll Hospital building contracted to RDC

An agreement has been signed tasking Road Development Corporation (RDC) to construct a new building for the Baa Atoll Hospital in Eydhafushi.

The agreement was signed by Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim and RDC Managing Director Ibrahim Nazeem at last night's gathering held for President Dr Mohamed Muizzu to meet with residents of Eydhafushi.

The President, who is currently undertaking an official trip to Baa Atoll, visited Eydhafushi yesterday afternoon.

At last night’s meeting, President Muizzu stated that the new hospital building will bring urban-level healthcare services to Eydhafushi.

The President noted that while mammography and other services are being introduced at Baa Atoll Hospital, the current facility lacks adequate space to deliver them effectively. This, he asserted, is one of the key reasons why the hospital needs a new building.
