Mammography services have been introduced today at the Baa Atoll Hospital in B. Eydhafushi.
The service was inaugurated today during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's ongoing visit to the atoll.
Mammography is a breast imaging technique that helps detect cancer early, often before symptoms appear.
Baa Atoll Hospital stated that the launch of mammography services will enhance breast cancer screening and treatment at the facility.
Last night, the Road Development Corporation was contracted to construct a new building for the Baa Atoll Hospital. The president said at the ceremony that once the new building is completed, the Baa Atoll Hospital will be equipped to provide health services at the level of an urban centre.
