Rise in cases of dengue and diarrhoea

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said that they have observed an increase in reported cases of dengue fever and diarrhoea.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said that they have observed an increase in reported cases of dengue fever and diarrhoea.

According to statistics shared by the HPA, 168 cases of dengue were reported within June. The number rose to 188 in July. However, these figures are lower than the numbers recorded last year.

As per HPA, 3,946 cases of diarrhoea were reported in June, with July seeing 5,528 cases.

33,156 cases of common cold were reported last month.

HPA said that dengue cases were most prevalent last month in AA, Dh and K Atolls. Viral fever was mostly reported in AA, K and L atolls. Diarrhoea was most common in Male' and F atoll.
