President nominates two for HRCM membership

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has forwarded two names to the Parliament for appointment as members of the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM).

Two members of HRCM will have their terms end next month: HRCM Vice President Mu'umina Waheed and member Shifaa'ath Abdul Razzaq.

President Muizzu nominated the names of two individuals from amongst the applicants. The names are:

- Mohamed Faris Thoha, H. Sosun

- Mohamed Shafeeq Mahmood, M. Copy

Parliament has now forwarded the names to the Human Rights and Gender Committee for review.
