The Maldives has strongly condemned Israel’s recently announced plan to expand its control over Palestinian territories and other parts of the Middle East.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed a controversial policy called the “Greater Vision of Israel,” which aims to extend Israeli rule to areas including the occupied West Bank, Gaza, the Golan Heights (Syria), Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, and parts of Jordan.

In response, Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu posted on social media platform X, calling the plan a violation of international law and a threat to the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state.

President Muizzu urged the global community to take urgent action to protect the rights and safety of the Palestinian people and to stop the worsening crisis.

The Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs also released a statement, warning that Israel’s expansionist policies are causing serious instability across the Middle East. The ministry called on the international community to unite in defense of Palestinian rights and regional peace.

The policy of "Greater Israel" has drawn criticism from many Arab countries and international organizations concerned about its impact on peace efforts and regional stability.
