Pedestrians struck by motorcycle while crossing road in Kahdhoo

Moosa said that an elderly woman and her grandchild who were crossing the road, as well as the male motorist and female passenger on the motorcycle sustained varying levels of injuries in the accident.

Pedestrians crossing the road near the L. Kahdhoo Airport tonight were hit by a speeding motorcycle.

Maavah Council President Ahmed Moosa said that the accident occurred around 7pm tonight.

"The people crossing the road had returned from Umrah. They came from the airport and was crossing the road when the motorcycle crashed into them," he said.

Moosa said that an elderly woman and her grandchild who were crossing the road, as well as the male motorist and female passenger on the motorcycle sustained varying levels of injuries in the accident. All are now receiving treatment at the hospital, according to Moosa.

"As far as we know now, it is the elderly woman who sustained the most serious injuries. All four people, including the child, is being treated at the hospital," Moosa said.

No further details regarding the four persons involved in the accident are known as of now. Police are also yet to comment on the accident.
