Two foreign employees of a restaurant have been arrested on suspicion of stealing from the cash counter, claiming they were denied service charge and other payments owed to them.
The suspects are Udayakumar Jaykumar Raja, 29, an Indian national, and Padma, 31, a Nepalese national. Both were arrested on charges of theft and fraud.
They were presented before the Criminal Court, which ordered their remand extended by 15 days.
According to the remand order, the two admitted to taking MVR 200 over two days, arguing that the restaurant owner had failed to pay their salary, pocket money, and service charge as per their agreement.
