Bank of Maldives (BML) has expanded its services in Thoddoo, Alifu Alifu atoll, with the inauguration of a Dollar ATM and the laying of the foundation stone for a new branch.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, who is currently touring the atoll, inaugurated the ATM service and laid the foundation stone in a ceremony attended by Finance Minister Moosa Zameer, Thoddoo Council President Ahmed Karam, BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb and BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef.

BML said Thoddoo, which is one of the most developed islands in local tourism was selected for the new Dollar ATM due to the large number of tourism-related businesses operating on the island. The service is expected to provide significant relief to local tourism operators.

With the launch in Thoddoo, ATM services have now been made available across all islands in Alifu Alifu atoll under the bank’s “BML ATMs across Maldives” initiative. ATM services have so far been rolled out across all islands in eight atolls.

“BML is working tirelessly to expand our services to every part of the country,” Shareef said at the event.

BML currently operates 41 branches, 144 self-service banking centres, 200 ATMs, agent banking services, and a nationwide digital banking platform.
