Sultan Park, one of the most aesthetically pleasing green spaces in Male', has been closed for three months for redevelopment and major repairs.
The Ministry of Construction announced that the park would be shut from today as renovation work is already under way.
Although the park was closed today, parts of the park have been inaccessible to the public since June last year due to its deteriorating condition and lack of maintenance when it had been under the Male' City Council.

Sultan Park, known for its large trees will be redesigned to cater to all age groups. Features will include adventurous elements allowing visitors to move from tree to tree.
Sultan Park was last redeveloped during the administration of former president Abdulla Yameen, when President Dr Mohamed Muizzu served as Housing Minister. The project included the establishment of a snow park, which has since been shut down.
President Muizzu has said the government intends to redevelop Sultan Park in a way that reflects Maldivian identity and history. With the use of modern technology, the park is planned to become a place of both learning and entertainment for children and young people.
