The amendments to the Thalassemia Control Act, which were passed by Parliament, was sent to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu for ratification but was sent back to Parliament yesterday.
The President decided to send the bill back to Parliament due to various opinions being sent by Maldives Blood Services (MBS), thalassemia patients and their families. It was sent back for more amendments to be made.
