National Award of Recognition awarded to 9 people

Nine individuals from various fields have been awarded the National Award of Recognition for their services.

The awards were given today by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu at the National Day ceremony held in HA. Utheemu this morning, with an award letter and plaque.

<b>Individuals who were given the National Award of Recognition</b>

  1. Husna Fahmy – for steadfast dedication to the advancement of the Dhivehi language and literature through publishing and writing.
  2. Izzath Ahmed Nizar – for continued efforts and dedication to the advancement of Dhivehi poetry.
  3. Dr. Abdul Azeez Hameed – for exceptional service and tireless efforts in advancing healthcare and raising public awareness.
  4. Amira Sulaiman – for outstanding service in the healthcare sector, fostering the development and practice of local and traditional medicine.
  5. Fathimath Ibrahim – for outstanding dedication to the welfare of children and adults with disabilities and special needs.
  6. Ahmed Waheed Ali – for exemplary dedication to community engagement, empowerment, and mobilisation.
  7. Aleemuddeen – for steadfast commitment and multifaceted contributions through a wide range of productive endeavours and enterprises.
  8. Mohamed Jailam – for outstanding service and innovation in developing computer software and applications.
  9. Zahiyya Mohamed – for unwavering dedication and trailblazing service in a field traditionally underrepresented by women.

A company also received the award along with the aforementioned 9 individuals. Ooredoo Maldives Public Limited Company (a company that has been in the industry for the past 20 years) was awarded with the honor for dedicated efforts in fostering and expanding trade and commerce, particularly in the telecommunications industry.

The nominees were chosen by the National Awards Committee that was appointed by the President.
