Foundation for Hanimaadhoo Hospital has been laid

Earlier today, Health Minister Abdulla Nazim poured in the concrete for the foundation for the hospital. This occurred during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's ongoing visit to Haa Dhaalu Atoll. The cost of the project, which was given to RDC, is MVR 104,834,778.55.

The foundation for the construction project of Hanimaadhoo Hospital has been laid.

Earlier today, Health Minister Abdulla Nazim poured in the concrete for the foundation for the hospital. This occurred during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's ongoing visit to Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

The cost of the project, which was given to RDC, is MVR 104,834,778.55.

The hospital is set to have 30 beds for the 2,500 people of Hanimaadhoo.

While addressing the people of Hanimaadhoo last night, President Muizzu stated that their current health center will be equipped with dialysis services before the end of the year.

The President went on to say that arrangements will be made for an OB-GYN and a pediatrician to begin their practice at Hanimaadhoo.

Hanimaadhoo Hospital is one of the seven island hospitals that were announced to be built in 2022. The project falls under the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED). The construction of Hanimaadhoo Hospital was earlier handed to a private company in 2023.

Along with Hanimaadhoo, the other islands that will have hospitals built are Sh. Milandhoo, N. Velidhoo, K. Thulusdhoo, ADh. Maamigili, V. Felidhoo and Th. Vilufushi. The projects were handed to various companies, with the projects totaling MVR 686,089,524.22 from the Kuwait Fund.
