144 bottles of liquor seized in Hulhumale' pickup chase

Police in Hulhumale' seized 144 bottles of liquor today after pursuing a speeding pickup truck.

The driver, identified as 28 year old Indian national Fasal Rahman Matmal, was arrested in Hulhumale' Phase 1.

Police said the vehicle ignored police signals and honking before zigzagging through roads at high speed.

The police eventually stopped the pickup and took Matmal into custody.

Officers recovered 144 bottles of liquor from the vehicle.

He has been charged with possession, use, and trafficking of alcohol, police said.
