Top priority to identify and fulfill needs of people: President

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that identifying the needs of citizens and realizing them is the highest of responsibilities.

President Muizzu is currently visiting Haa Dhaalu Atoll and has been to Vaikaradhoo today. During his meeting with the island's residents, he has said that the purpose of such trips is to clarify the needs of the people and resolve their issues.

President Muizzu went on to say that among his many pledges, various works pertaining to various fields are underway and will continue to fulfill his obligations.

"It is my highest responsibility and my obligation to finish what I have pledged to the people of this nation, to identify and clarify the needs of the people and realize them," said the President.

President Muizzu has shared the plans included in next year's budget and his pledges made as he was addressing the residents of Vaikaradhoo.

Projects for the island have already been confirmed, said the President, such as:

  1. A harbor for the island.
  2. A beach for the residents.
  3. Swimming track.
  4. Football stadium.
  5. Handball court.
  6. Outdoor gym.
  7. Skate park.

The President said that the work has been handed over to MTCC, with the designs being finalized. The work is set to being next month.

President Muizzu also stated that work will start on the unfinished 12 classrooms and multipurpose hall. He has said he will work to make sure that the classrooms will be ready for use by the start of the next academic year.

Alongside these various projects:

  1. A Quran center branch has been included in next year's budget and set to begin early in the year.
  2. A specialized ferry for Vaikaradhoo farmers to transport produce.
  3. To move the powerplant away from the residential areas.
  4. Upgrading of the health center.
  5. 50 housing units to be included in next years budget and the work to begin next year.

President Muizzu has stated that he will fulfill all his pledges within his term.
