Man dies after boat capsizes near Thulusdhoo

A 30-year-old man has passed away after a boat capsized near Kaafu atoll Thulusdhoo.

The victim was identified as Ahmed Shiham, of Finivaage, Baa atoll Kudarikilu.

He was among six people who went overboard when the vessel "Leo" ran aground on a reef and overturned.

 Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said Shiham was reported missing after the incident. He was later found dead by a search party from Thulusdhoo.

The other passengers were rescued and are not believed to be in serious condition, according to MNDF.
