Amongst various emails that have leaked, a former Maldivian President was set to meet Jeffrey Epstein, known child sex offender who recorded such heinous acts and blackmailed various individuals.

Email correspondence between Epstein and former Israeli President Ehud Barak showed mention of a "former Maldivian President" as well as meeting with said President. The mail doesn't clearly state who the President is, with no clear indication that the meeting took place.

The date of the email was 28th April 2014.

The hackers leaked the emails amid the growing issue of a controversial list of people who allegedly visited Epstein's home, where the vile acts took place, and other places in New York.

When checking the date on the email, there were three former Presidents during that time frame, which were former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, former President Mohamed Nasheed and former President Mohamed Waheed.

While referring the date in the email, an individual had posted on X stating that President Maumoon was in Sri Lanka and President Nasheed was in Maldives, with President Nasheed reposting it.

Epstein, a wealthy financier with ties to political figures and celebrities in the United Stated and other countries, was arrested in 2005 for allegedly sexually abusing and blackmailing hundreds of children, with him being rearrested in 2019 after release. A month after his confession to the charges put upon him, he was found dead in his prison cell on 10th August.

Epstein's ex-girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, was arrested and convicted of aiding Epstein in his crimes and has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
