President Muizzu reiterates call for global unity against Israeli atrocities in Palestine

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has once again urged the international community to unite in opposing Israel’s ongoing genocide and atrocities against the Palestinian people.

Speaking today at the SCO Plus meeting held in Tianjin, during his current visit to China, President Muizzu reaffirmed the Maldives' unwavering support for Palestine. He emphasized the need for collective global action to end the suffering of the Palestinian people and hold Israel accountable.

President Muizzu has consistently raised the issue of Palestine at various international platforms, using each opportunity to bring global attention to the severity of the crisis.

The SCO Plus meeting is a high-level forum that brings together leaders from Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, partner countries, and international organizations. The discussions focus on regional security challenges, economic integration, and global governance.

During his remarks, President Muizzu highlighted the importance of promoting peace and stability both regionally and globally through platforms like the SCO. He also introduced and expressed support for the Global Civilization Initiative (GCI), a proposal aimed at enhancing international cooperation, sustainable development, and inclusive governance.
