Two senior Police officers who were earlier dismissed on recommendation from the Police Board have now been reinstated.
Ahmed Mohamed and Mohamed Jamsheed have been reinstated at Assistant Commissioner rank. The two were dismissed three years ago while they were serving in the same rank.
In 2021, Jamsheed, Ahmed Mohamed, Chief Superintendent of Police Abdulla Shareef, Superintendent Mohamed Daud and Superintendent Ismail Shameem had been dismissed in 2021 on recommendation from the Police Board.
The other officers remain employed at Maldives Police Service. Of them, Abdulla Shareef has been promoted to Assistant Commissioner.
The Civil Court earlier ruled that all these officers should be reinstated. The State appealed the ruling at the High Court, which cancelled the case in July claiming the State is attempting to make undue use of the court system.
The State did not appeal this decision of the court.
