Speeding pickup truck overturns on highway

A speeding pickup truck overturned on the Hulhumale'-Male' highway today. 

A Police Media Official stated that the pickup was speeding when a tire burst, leading it to crash into the highway divider and overturn.

No persons were injured in the accident.

The incident was reported to Police at 12:40pm today. 

Although the accident caused no injuries, it caused severe damage to the vehicle involved, the official said. 

The pickup also hit an oncoming car as it overturned, but the car did not receive significant damage. 

Police further said that action has been taken against the pickup's driver, as he had been driving over the speed limit. 

Police are further investigating the incident.
